On December 14, Lyongo Juliana will give a lecture and a workshop during the Congress ‘Ruimte voor Samenleven: Sociaal en Fysiek In verbinding’ of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW).

The aim of this conference is to highlight the role that the design of public space can have in promoting social cohesion and the coexistence of people of different origins.

Our society is becoming increasingly diverse. This can have consequences for the way we live together. Do we still really meet each other within our cities? Or do we retreat into our own social bubble?

The way in which public space is designed can help us feel more connected to our physical environment, feel at home and have social contact with people who may at first glance differ from ourselves. Lyongo will discuss this with the participants of the conference. He starts with a presentation and then gives one of the workshops on inclusive area development.
