Exciting news: we have achieved the ISO 9001 certification last week. This important milestone marks a new step forward for our Amsterdam-based firm and reflects our ongoing commitment to quality, structure, and professional project management.
For us, quality is created through much more than the final design. It is reflected in every step of the process: from initial conversations and design development to coordination, planning, communication, and project delivery. It includes the way we collaborate, communicate, plan, and manage projects from the first idea to completion. Through various audits, we were assessed on how we structure our internal processes and how we, as a team, work towards what we claim to do: creating a better living environment for all.
What is ISO 9001?
ISO 9001 is the world’s most widely recognized international standard for quality management systems. The standard provides a framework that helps organizations establish, maintain, and continuously improve the way they work. Rather than assessing the quality of a specific product or design outcome, ISO 9001 evaluates how an organization manages its processes to consistently deliver quality. It helps create a consistent and transparent way of working. By defining clear processes and responsibilities, it strengthens project management, reduces risks, and supports effective collaboration with clients, consultants, and contractors. Ultimately, this leads to more reliable project delivery and greater confidence for everyone involved.
The certification is based on a number of key principles that form the foundation of a strong quality management system: understanding client needs and expectations and ensuring they remain central throughout every project, clear internal processes, effective collaboration, commitment to continuous improvement.
What does this mean for us?
Since the beginning of this year, we have been strengthening our business operations by further professionalizing our internal organization and aligning our processes with the ISO 9001 standard. We were assessed in May and July through various audits. Last week, we successfully completed the final one. With that, we have officially obtained the certificate.
Achieving ISO 9001 certification means that an independent assessment has confirmed that our quality management system meets the requirements of this international standard. The certification recognizes that our processes are structured, documented, and consistently applied across the organization.
